I've reached out to the NTM to request clarification on the
license / see if they'd be willing to sign the waiver mentioned in
the link you sent.

That being said, I don't understand the paragraph about relations and it
might be that I'm just not an experienced enough mapper to complete this
project. Most of the public transit routes around me seem to just be
that people recorded a bus ride and drew a line, they are along the
roads, but seem to be different entities (or I just don't understand
what's going on, which is much more likely). I'll look into it a bit
more before throwing in the towel though.
