[OSM-talk] City coverage

Two questions I thought might be worth investigating
 * How good is the OSM coverage of the UK's major cities?
 * Where's a good place to visit, if you want to create new maps?

I've taken the "list of big places in the UK" from geonames, and downloaded an 
area of OSM data around each one. Each of those areas has been rendered to 
produce a small PNG image, which are available in:

http://almien.co.uk/OSM/Maps/Cities/PNG/

The filesize of each PNG image should be a good indication of how "well 
covered" that city is (the more roads, colours, and names, the less PNG will 
be able to compress the image).  The results are available at:

http://almien.co.uk/OSM/Cities/
