Hello Dean,

You're from Hants LUG I believe?  I gave the talks on AJAX and Freemap 
recently, and am responsible for all the data in the Southampton area 
except the motorways :-)

It's up to you. On the one hand that would be replication of data, on the 
other hand some renderers do not deal with ways at the moment (e.g. the 
new renderer at nick.dev.openstreetmap.org) will be able to understand 
them. I'd probably leave the names in and also name the way. Which editor 
are you using?

Also, how do we handle road names AND road numbers?
So far, I've just used "Saint Johns Road (B3033)"

Also, can a Way safely join the middle of another Way?
