Strolling through Forbury Gardens with a friend for a picnic this lunchtime,
we talked about OSM (since I wanted to map the paths while I was there, much
to her amusement ;-).

I'm sure somebody said this elsewhere, but just in case... I think it's fair
to say that people putting in large numbers of nodes/segments/ways to map out
entire towns are going to be fairly technical, or invested in the project
enough to get and learn JOSM.

But then people like my friend would be likely to load the web page and add
odd things like pubs, post boxes, etc. For example I'd love to have an
interactive map of "green Reading" a bit like the Green Brighton site, based
on OSM data, and allowing people to enter new venues.

A web-based interface that helped people add small-scale data like missing
road names, amenities, etc. and all in a very intuitive manner might be
something to aim for?

Regards,
Tom
