I've one. Generally I find it to be pretty good, but as it's my first
and only GPS I don't have anything to compare it to.

Make sure you have it on 'navigation' rather than 'sports' mode. In
sports mode it'll only claim to have a fix if PDOP < 4. Works if PDOP <
10 in navigation mode.

Be aware that there's a bug with turning bluetooth on/off that resets to
sports mode for some reason. Took me a while to work out why I wasn't
getting a fix where I used to get one no problem.

Make sure you're not on low power mode, too, at that sometimes has some
effect. Also set DGPS to SBAS.

I've not had any problem with it turning itself off. Just my last one
developed a fault where it could only 'see' one satellite at a time and
wouldn't even lock onto that, which Storage Depot were extremely good
about replacing.
