The map can take two sets of coordinates - lat/lon for the centre and
mlat/mlon for a marker (also the centre unless that is given as well).
For the search result links you may be right that it would be better
to include a marker.

It's not obvious whether or not people would expect a permalink to
include a marker if the map wasn't already displaying one (not that
it would if the map was at the moment ;-)).
