"Delete mode"?  Interesting, that's obviously why JOSM yesterday
told me that it is going to delete a highway with 5 nodes ;-)
Because I did not know about this, I press "ok" ;-(

It is a usability disaster to implement such interface changes
within such a short period of time.  If you are going to
change the interface, at least one major release has to be
in between (and a major release must not occur more than
once a year).

BTW, I'm always wondering why JOSM displays all changes in the
commit dialog and let me select them one by one, but does
not seem to pay attention to such a selection (it always
commits all pending changes).  At least, that's how it
looks to me.
