I would create a seperate user (say, "sheetz-import" or something like
that) to upload this data. This way, if we have legal trouble later on, we
can simply remove all contributions of that one user, leaving your other
work untouched.
In the cases where I imported large amounts of data (coastlines, borders
from the CIA World Database), I put the "source" tag only on the ways. I
felt that adding a "source" to each and every node would have been too
much.
You could create a wiki page (say, "WikiProject Sheetz") and describe your
data source there.
