Residential is great for suburbia. Retail is great for out-of-town retail 
parks, shopping parades and shopping centres. Industrial is great for 
industrial parks and areas that are clearly, well, industrial.

Most high streets and highly built up areas are a mixture of retail at ground 
level, and commercial non-retail (offices) and residential apartments above. 
I find the distinction very fuzzy.
