[OSM-talk] OSM layer into Adobe Illustrator?

This is ludicrous - I've got a national TV station interested in using
imagery from OSM, great publicity, and it turns out not to be possible.
I've been mapping for 10 months because I thought my efforts might
actually be USEFUL to people....
Please, why can't we pay a lawyer to come up with a license? How many
people are signed up, 3000 by August, presumably more now? One-off
contribution of GBP 5 each and voila, several lawyers who can clarify
this whole mess.
Will anybody else edit out that sentence on the front page, or shall I?

Yeah, the opening sentence on the wiki is a very bad joke, particularly
when you then go on to the actual page about "Using OpenStreetMap"
(http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/index.php/Using_OpenStreetMap):
"For legal restrictions on the OSM data, see the OpenStreetMap License
and Legal FAQ."
Hang on, didn't we just say that _other_ maps are the ones with "legal
restrictions"?
cheers
Richard
