We need a lawyer. In fact, wee need a lot of lawyers. Fortunately, there are 
UK Creative Commons mailing lists. I wonder why the f*** we haven't asked 
them months earlier about this.

I'm all with that. There is absolutely no need for OSM to inspire fear into 
people who want to use the OSM maps.

Furthermore, CC-licensed geodata is a brand new field, and we don't have to 
wait to others to write the rules (or better define them). We can. Jeez, just 
ask some lawyer from the UK CC mailing lists to subscribe here.

What about this: we talk with CC, and provide them with suggestions for the 
3.0 licenses, that make things about geodata clear. Such as, "are layers of a 
map a derivative work or collective work?". Remember: laws can be changed. 
And CC licenses, even more. Anc CC licenses interpretations, even more.


And, by the way: is anybody on OSM going to sue ITN over this?
