[OSM-talk] GML from osm

I've been scrathcing my head for the last hour now,

I've taken a small osm file saved from josm, used msxsl.exe to apply the 
xls stylesheet and got a .gml file, which on inspection looks to contain 
data, however ogr2ogr will not recognise it!

Any suggestions from anyone as to what I'm doing wrong?
Do I need to download some additional schema files from somewhere if so 
where?
