Hi,
I have been successfull in using Potlatch to map a railway. I like
the ease of using it.
I was wondering when does Potlatch save its data and where. I am just
noticing at some point that the negative ids of new ways and nodes
turn into positive ones. What triggers that? Is there a way to
manually do that? Then there are ways that show up in Potlatch but
not in JOSM and on rendered maps. Does Potlatch keep data in some
cache that survives restarting of Potlatch?
I also ended up with duplicate ways in some places because Potlatch
delayed the display of the way that already existed.
I guess that these problems have something to do with the OSM server
being a bit overstressed and with my somewhat unreliable internet
connection. It would be good if Potlatch gave an indication whether
it is done loading data for the displayed area and whether it was
successful in sending its data to the server. It could also provide
"Save" and "Load" commands.
Thanks for the great work.
Matthias
