  That's really annoying (although you did well in getting an actual
  confirmation)!  I was the one who downgraded this to Tertiary given
  only the evidence on-the-ground, as it were.  This situation means
  our maps indicate what most people (I think) would guess is a
  major through-route for Oxford when really it's nothing of the sort
  (and will get you a £60 fine if you attempt it in a car during the
  day time).
  
  Anyone got any bright ideas on how we can tag this so that although
  it's officially an A road it doesn't render as such? - Google have
  it looking like an unclassified road.  Personally I'd change it to
  Tertiary again (or even unclassified), until such time as the
  administrative and physical aspects of the Highway key have been
  disentangled. I suspect however that someone would go and change it
  right back now the official A-road numbering has been confirmed,
  and I don't want an edit war over this!
