Here's an idea, I'm not sure how viable/silly it is. Could JOSM use some picture
of the planet that you could draw a bounding box around, rather then having to
fiddle with lat and long numbers? Think of the slippy map at zoom near 1 or 2,
and being able to draw a box on that. As it is now, I'm totally guessing how big
the bounding box is that I need around a certain (x,y) point, and
unless you are a hardcore mapper I'd guess most others were doing the
same.

I do agree that there should be a common nomenclature though, calling
the edges/bounding areas different names in different tools is just an
easy way to confuse users.

Thoughts?
