I'm using a selfcompiled gpsd 2.35beta because of this -b option. My gps
receiver is very picky about receiving anything and gpsd normally
(without -b) tries to adjust the communication a little, which results
in no communication at all.

Tried it on another computer and it just works without any pin
whatsoever. I didn't even edit hcid.conf or rfcomm.conf. As root I entered:
rfcomm bind 1 00:15:4b:11:17:c8 1
and afterwards a "cat /dev/rfcomm1" spit out raw nmea.
David.
