this is already tried at the editor level (e.g. JOSM Presets), but also has
some limits:
- there is not an English word for all words in all other languages (an
example we had some time ago on the German ML: "Schloss" and "Burg" which
translate both to "castle" in English)
- the same word can have different meanings (or be slightly different in
meaning), or has (generally) different implications in other countries (e.g.
Bar, Pub).
I don't speak any really "different" language like chinese or zulu, but I'm
sure the differences there are even greater than with German or Italian and
English (which belong more or less to a very similar culture compared to
chinese). Even with "English" there are differences between US English,
Brit-English, Irish, Aussie-English, ...
cheers,
Martin
