Thanks to everyone for the responses so far to "Coordination for Haiti
mapping." While I concur with the responses so far, I would like to
emphasize that managing volunteer efforts to avoid duplication is applicable
to any major mapping initiative (humanitarian related or not) so it may be a
worthwhile idea to discuss with the broader OSM community.
I'd like to request that those of us focusing on the work in Haiti (and,
like myself, who didn't know about osm-emergency!) move our discussions to
the Google Group:
http://groups.google.com/group/osm-emergency with the understanding we may
post again here with queries about functionality that may apply to
everyone.
best,
Shadrock
