I agree that integration of wikidata ids into OSM is desirable as it overcomes (hopefully) the limitations of linking to articles (an article often deals not just with one "object" but has some fuzzyness inherent to the article datatype). There is one big problem that should be tackled though: easy verifiability. A value like "Q42" alone is not understandable by a human mapper who comes across it. It would be nice if the editors could expand this to a name in their GUI (e.g. post fixed in parenthesis).

+1 to not import blindly but require human confirmation.
