Mateusz,
I recommend that you not go down a rabbit hole of offering up
hypothetical examples of what people might say and then ask us
moderators to predict whether it will or will not evoke a complaint from
someone else in the community. As for proactive responses from the
moderators (i.e., responses initiated without a complaint from someone
in the community), those will occur in the event of aggressive or
abusive discourse. I don't think you need an explanation of what that
means.
In a nutshell, moderation is being imposed on the lists in order to
ensure that the dialogues on the list reflect respect for members of the
community, and that arguments are dispassionate, i.e., are not written
in a manner that will tend to evoke negative reactions. Whether this or
that statement will deeply offend another community member is something
we shall have to wait and see to determine, case by case. If you want a
rule of thumb, be polite! Be respectful!
Please also bear in mind that the moderators will examine complaints
case by case. If a frivolous complaint comes to the moderators, it will
in all likelihood be treated as frivolous.
cheers,
Allan Mustard
