[Tile-serving] [osm2pgsql] process blocked after planet_osm_roads is indexed (#174)

Hi 

I am not clear who to approach for the following issue, and I really will not want to kill a import planet process that had been running for the last 13 days. Please kindly point me a way out.

I have received an echo from kernal stating

root      4583  4582  0 03:15 ?        00:00:00 ls /var/lib/readahead/*.early

this process is blocked for more than 120 seconds, and the import process cannot continue.

The last logs from osm2pgsql is as follows:

I have been trying to import planet into a core i7 system for close to 2 months. And I have yet to achieve any success. To import smaller region like south east asia, is still possible, I have managed to do it.

But for planet.osm the pain is that the errors or challenges only comes like 5-7 days after the import has start.

I will really wish to pull through this import, and not to go through another reimport that last another a week or two.

P.S and I don't understand how others is able to import planet.osm this fast. http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Osm2pgsql/benchmarks/i7-3770-SSD
