[OSM-legal-talk] A questionable data source usage in Haiti in 2010

Can I just remind everyone of the principle "assume good faith", and the
equally valid principle that first one asks someone who made the edit via
changeset discussions, before raising issues in wider forums.

I was somewhat disconcerted to realise that multiple discussions have been
occurring which imputed that editors contributing to mapping

Port-au-Prince after the 2010 earthquake, of whom I was one, might
have been making "suspicious edits". It appears that rumours, gossip and
tittle-tattle have got in the way of a considered approach involving the
first two principles, or even checking the wiki, mailing lists etc.

I don't expect contributors to be familiar with the ins-and-outs of OSM
ancient history, but I do expect people not to jump to false conclusions,
and certainly not to do the minimum of due diligence before asking,
and using loaded terms "suspicious" in doing so.
