[Tagging] Docks - Change to use the natural/water schema?

So, should the common use in OSM be what is documented in the wiki?
Most objects tagged with man_made=communications_tower do not match the meaning on the OSM wiki, (speaking from experience) but should we change the wiki documentation because of this?

The UK meaning of dock refers to the type of dock that is in the form that I'm referring to. The American usage of dock as another word for pier corresponds with the large amount of incorrectly tagged objects in OSM. If OSM is supposed to be the British meaning, isn't that what is already documented?
