The following message was just posted on the talk-nl list.  With the help of
Babel fish, the following is a rough English translation:

Dear OSM Community,
The first response from AND Automotive Navigation dates.

We see that there is much obscurity over the data we will provide.
Concerning China and India, for this we refer to the AND Worldviewer, to
find by means of http://worldviewer.and.com/ The Netherlands dataset will
contain however more detail than can be seen on the AND Worldviewer, these
is similar with the maps such as those found by means of
http://worldviewer.and.com/citymaps.aspx.

The map which we will provide has been optimised for route planning by car
and contains therefore the complete Netherlands at street level. We believe
that only a community such as OpenStreetMap can make this map 100% complete
and up-to-data keep since it is worked ongoing for the road network work.

Moreover the community are able think of enriching the map with bicycle
paths, footpaths or POI's such as restaurants, shops, mail boxes or
recreation supplies. Also traffic-lights, zebra crossing can be added to be
able stipulate speed the average of gone better.

We strive there to today (9 July) the format publish description. With this
description can be reflected how the AND format can be converted to the
OpenStreetMap format. End these yielded the dataset or sample will come of
this available.

Of course we will be present next week at OpenStreetMap's the State or the
Map conference in manchester.

Hierbij de eerste reactie vanuit AND Automotive Navigation Data.  Wij zien
dat er veel onduidelijkheid is over de data welke wij zullen leveren.
Wat betreft China en India, hiervoor verwijzen wij naar de AND Worldviewer,
te vinden via http://worldviewer.and.com/

De Nederland dataset zal echter meer detail bevatten dan te zien is op de
AND Worldviewer, deze is vergelijkbaar met de kaarten zoals deze zijn te
vinden via http://worldviewer.and.com/citymaps.aspx.   De kaart die wij
zullen leveren is geoptimaliseerd voor routeplanning met de auto en bevat
dus heel Nederland op straatniveau.  Wij geloven dat alleen een community
zoals de OpenStreetMap deze kaart 100% compleet kan maken en up-to-data
houden aangezien er continue aan het wegennetwerk wordt gewerkt.  Daarnaast
zou de community kunnen denken aan het verrijken van de kaart met
fietspaden, wandelpaden of POI's zoals restaurants, winkels, brievenbussen
of recreatie voorzieningen.  Ook zouden stoplichten, zebrapaden kunnen
worden toegevoegd om de gemiddelde snelheid van een weg beter te kunnen
bepalen.

Wij streven er naar om vandaag (9 juli) de formaat omschrijving te
publiceren.  Met deze omschrijving kan worden nagedacht hoe het AND formaat
geconverteerd kan worden naar het OpenStreetMap formaat.  Eind deze week zal
de dataset of een sample hiervan beschikbaar komen.

Uiteraard zijn wij volgende week aanwezig op de State of the Map, de
OpenStreetMap conferentie in Manchester.
